Bonjour mes amis! Today’s word is actually a phrase. And if you’re in France, you’ll DEFinitely need to know this one! France has some of the best wines in the entire world and therefore requires you to have a taste, even if just a little and you think you hate wine, France will make you best friends with it….or at least acquaintances. For whatever reason I have found that I prefer to drink Reds while I am here; I haven’t quite found a White comparable to my two favorite cheap Whites that I enjoy back home (Kim Crawford, sauvignon blanc and Columbia Cellars, riesling). So far our favorite and highly affordable Red is Chateau Colbert’s Cotes du Bourg Bordeaux.
DISCLAIMER : I don’t speak French well at all, IF at all….. all WUW words are those that I have found help me communicate on a daily basis in France and the definitions are purely out of my recognition of the word and how I have experienced them used.
” un verre de vin rouge “
(pronounced ‘uhN vehr duh vehN rooj’)
~ substitute ‘blanc’ (pronounced blahnc) for ‘rouge’ if you prefer white wine ~
“ a glass of red wine “
