I had the privilege of shooting Kate, a Senior, twice within the past 12 months. Her first session was last October and she decided that she also wanted a Spring/Summer session in the sun. I am SO glad we did too- Kate has had an incredible year after being diagnosed with kidney cancer she was sent into surgery just a few weeks later to have her fist-sized tumor removed. She is well on her way to a perfect recovery and she was vibrant and renewed with passion and beauty during our session last week. You can read her entertaining and well-written blog detailing her personal experience with cancer and her life’s journey at www.1kidneykate.blogspot.com.
Because Kate wanted a warm Summer session, we decided to shoot just before sunset to make use of the gorgeous light ‘ole Kansas sun has been producing for us recently. We shot on a property with a small lake and lush grasses. You will see from the last image just how dedicated I am to ‘getting the shot’ for my clients
Enjoy the lovely, 1Kidney Kate :

this image below of La Liberté guidant le peuple or Liberty leading the people from the French Revolution reminds me so much of the following image of Kate. And somehow represents to me her overcoming cancer victoriously…

and the final image is not for the faint of heart….
EEEEEK! Don’t you worry about me, I am fully recovered from my wildlife romp.
Enjoy the wind and the sun today. Feel the warmth from the inside - out.
bisous, jp.
