Just before we move back to the States, David and I decided to take a train down to Avignon and Chateauneuf du Pape for the weekend. David stayed in Avignon the Summer after he graduated college with some friends of his family’s and worked in the Palais du Pape (Pope’s Palace). David’s Father and Mother also lived there for a year many years ago when Steve was playing professional basketball for France. There is so much beauty in France, I am always amazed by the diverse and extreme beauty this country offers from coast to mountain top to coast. I love France so much and will miss it dearly.
While in Chateauneuf du Pape, we stayed, quite appropriately, in a Chateau. We had the best room in the castle with our own little private terrace right next to the pool with the most perfect view and weather we could have dreamed up. We went for some degustation du vin, swam in the pool, walked through the small towns and had a delicious dinner. It was the perfect trip to top off all the incredible memories, visual and emotional, that we’ve experienced being here throughout the past two years.
