Welcome. Bienvenue.

Hi, my name is Jessica Peterson & I was born and raised in Kansas City and have studied, lived, and traveled all over this crazy world. I have been shooting weddings & portraits for over 5 years professionally in the Kansas City area. I accept 30 weddings per year and there is no travel fee for those living in either KC or AZ.

I studied Fashion Photography in NYC *some* years back at FIT and do my best to keep fresh with fashion trends which I hope reads as the golden threads of beauty throughout my imagery. I am a wife, a friend, an aunt, an animal lover, a vegetarian, an adreanaline junkie and a romantic. I love reading, shopping, eating, dancing, indie rock, trip hop, jeff de bruges chocolates, lip gloss, traveling & meeting new people from different spaces than my own.

I hope in this blog you can find information, inspiration, a laugh, a cry, a wedding photographer ;) & a friend. Please feel free to leave comments as often as you like, its comparable to free icecream on a late summer afternoon to receive comments from my readers!! yummmm, amarena gelato***yes, please!

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about me & my work, if you have any questions about my services please feel free to call me anytime; p913.232.3729.

Excitement coming soon…

Okay so perhaps I am already excited. But increasingly excited by each passing day. Actually, why isn’t life like that in general….imagine it- we would infact WANT to live to be 90 if we were exponentially excited. About what, je ne sais pas. But what a thought, no? Anyways, I got myself shot. Ingrained. Suspended. Photographed. By THE PARSONS. The Parsons are Ashley & Jeremy. They are talented and genuine and exceptional and photographers. Oh and they happen to be married to one another. They both showed up to shoot me and I was beyond thrilled. That is, after I was SO nervous I must have looked like the awkward moments before your first junior high school dances when you gather at your friends’ house so all the parents can take your picture with your OMG I WISH he was my boyfriend, wait- where does his hand go?- no wait, where does MY hand go!? pose. Being unsure is so atypical pour moi. To give myself a small slice of redemption, I am fairly certain that I took my breaths and relaxed after the first 100 or so frames ;)

It was so incredibly interesting to finally be on the other side of the lens. I did have my bridal portraits and engagement portraits taken 6 years ago by Isaac, but nothing since then. It absolutely lent me glimpses into what my clients feel. Ashley and Jeremy were both so sweet and easy. I am anxiously - I mean excitedly - awaiting my proofs. Here are a few pics I snapped of Ashley for the 5 minutes I had my lover in my hands.
