It feels like its been a year since I’ve blogged, for that I apologize. I have been at school, sick, traveling, etc. (good enough excuses??)
Well David and I are leaving Paris for a couple of weeks to visit our beloveds in Kansas. I think we take out of CDG around 11a on Friday and get into KC around 5p. Unfortunately we don’t get to travel together =/ our flights are about an hour apart on each end….but we’ll be relaxing together on Friday night with a Mexico Friday dinner and movies and early bedtime later Friday night.
The photographs in this post are from the only two days I wasn’t sick on our week long holiday to Marseilles and Perpignan. We took a half day excursion to Collioure so some of the pics are from there as well. It was really beautiful the days that I got outside and am incredibly excited to visit more of the French Riviera this summer with my Mom and step-Father…until then: bisous to all.
Our first night in Marseilles, we stayed in Vieux Port (I highly recommend) and ate dinner across the street from the water. It was a beautiful night and the salad I ordered had the most deliciously sweet and flavorful vegetables I have ever in my life tasted.

this is a very common scene in Marseilles

While David went into work I took a bus around 8:30a up to the top of the city to l’eglise Notre Dame. It was a fun ride up through all of the tiny winding roads and unbelievable bus maneuvering. Once I got to the top I felt like I was literally in another world; it was so quiet and the wind was blowing just enough for you to notice it and the air was so cool and fresh in my lungs~ my entire body felt completely at peace and alive in this moment atop the the church. I’ll never forget it…

I thought this was so perfect; instead of tombstones (or perhaps in addition to) these families gave thanks to God for their family member that had passed on….they said thank you in so many different ways; it was really touching.

Vieux Port at night time~
This was at the edge of the Port on Tuesday morning, there were around 15 stands that were selling every fish, dead or alive, you can imagine. I hope you see this how I saw it, my legs were literally trembling as I walked away from them.

The rest of these photos are from our short time in Collioure. An adorable quaint town a half hour from Perpignan and inhabited mostly by the Catalonians.

We stayed with the Laurent and Laurence and their baby girl Jade. It was a lovely time and I hope to visit again soon! =)
