Welcome. Bienvenue.

Hi, my name is Jessica Peterson & I was born and raised in Kansas City and have studied, lived, and traveled all over this crazy world. I have been shooting weddings & portraits for over 5 years professionally in the Kansas City area. I accept 30 weddings per year and there is no travel fee for those living in either KC or AZ.

I studied Fashion Photography in NYC *some* years back at FIT and do my best to keep fresh with fashion trends which I hope reads as the golden threads of beauty throughout my imagery. I am a wife, a friend, an aunt, an animal lover, a vegetarian, an adreanaline junkie and a romantic. I love reading, shopping, eating, dancing, indie rock, trip hop, jeff de bruges chocolates, lip gloss, traveling & meeting new people from different spaces than my own.

I hope in this blog you can find information, inspiration, a laugh, a cry, a wedding photographer ;) & a friend. Please feel free to leave comments as often as you like, its comparable to free icecream on a late summer afternoon to receive comments from my readers!! yummmm, amarena gelato***yes, please!

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little more about me & my work, if you have any questions about my services please feel free to call me anytime; p913.232.3729.

a quick thought~

What if I fall and hurt myself

would you know how to fix me.

What if I went and lost myself

would you know where to find me.

If I forgot who I am

would you please remind me , oh,

cos without you things go hazy.

~Rosi Golan

I am often asking myself, well questions, of myself, strangers, best friends and family, businesses, and organizations alike. I’m not asking of them but more about them. These introverted questions never leave my side, and to be honest I hope they never will. When I came across this song sang by Rosi Golan -I am not certain if she wrote the lyrics- the words and their concept struck incredibly close to my personal thoughts and images of how I see myself and those I call my closest’s. I have never had many friends and the people that I do call my friends are all so different from one another. To place a certain quality or trait on those I might find this invisible bubble of comfort & trust & companionship with is unprocurable. But in these words I find exactly each and every one of the people I love. These three simple sentences so accurately & flawlessly verbalize that which I have been unable. And to my dearest friends and family whom I hold so close, I love you and need you and hope every day for the best of this world and that which we are unaware to shine fruitfully upon you.

always yours,

xj.
